Ready for a slow down...

I keep thinking things will slow down but the days seem to be going by faster. The last three days I have come home and sank into the love seat and not felt like getting back up.

Thankfully, next week is Thanksgiving! Which in the school world means schools are out!!! IE NO SHOOTS!!! But don't let that fool you into thinking it will not be a busy week.

Can I also say I am BRAIN DEAD?!? I set here at the computer thinking I could write up a post or two that could post on later dates... But once I set down .... NOTHING!!!

Well I guess the reason and only point of this post is that I am ready for things to slow down a little so I can attempt to be able to function properly!

Where did October go?

I can't believe it has been a month since I have posted. I have had a full month although I don't feel I did anything big to mark the month.

Work has been busy with shoots every morning, occasional afternoon shoots, homecomings and homecoming dances on Friday nights and Seniors or office work on Saturdays. I feel I should keep a calendar of where all I go and the little things I do.

This month I have gone to (well I have gone to too many places because I had to jump onto facebook to look at my status updates).... I have gone on overnight trips to Greenwood and Columbus. Homecomings at Newton HS, Wingfield HS, Oak Grove Middles HC Dance, NWR Homecoming Dance, Rosa Scott Homecoming Dance and I am sure I am missing something. I have made trips as far south as Magnolia, south east as Purvis, north east as Columbus and north west as greenwood. So yes I have covered our wonderful state.

In other news, we went to the fair! Saw the Billy Currington concert. I was kinda out of it for the fair because I was in Columbus that morning, had not slept well in the hotel, shot 300+ kids at a school by myself, had gone on a sports shoot at lunch time and then got to drive the nice boring drive back in the rain. Needless to say I did not even want fair food which is suprising!

I have discovered I don't care for the work like at all and how like high schoolers like to use like in almost like every other word. Like it is like going out of like style!

I don't get the school bus system. I really have been enjoying my IPhone! I can now say I have locked myself out of my house (yes I did and BJ was in Crystal Springs hunting!) We had our first bonfire of the year at Megan and Colin's and I look forward to the next one. I have gotten where I want to sit on the back porch under a blanket and enjoy the cool nights we are having (while watching Roxie dig a hole to China!) I realized one of the football players at Hinds is now a starter for the Denver Broncos (I wonder if I could get tickets?). And I can now tell you how long it takes for AT&T to get your Dish Network back on if you forget to pay the bill.

Now for a less random paragraph.... This past weekend I went down to Wilmer. I got to stay with my friend Carrie! It was great spending time with her and we decided we need to actually see each other more often. I was able to see people at FBC Wilmer I have not seen in years. I joined mom, dad, and the lil guys on their adventure. Rachel came down for the fall festival on Saturday so everyone was there but Ashley and she was missed. It was different but seemed so familiar to be able to go to church with friends or really family that were a big part of our lives. I was also able to surprise my hubby with an IPhone of his own that I got while in Mobile.

Well I better be going have to head to Pelahatchie today! I will try to do better at posting. Thankfully homecoming season is behind us so my weekends shouldn't be as crazy!

October!!!!!!

I started to write this post on October 1st but I wasn't able to get it done.

And here is why...

I GOT AN IPHONE!!! And I am excited. It was my birthday present!

So I was trying to blog from my IPhone and could get to the title but could not get it to let me type my post. So here I am sitting at my computer for the first time since I got my IPhone to tell the blog world....

How I bought $95 in groceries and only paid $19!

If you have not figured it out by now I really like couponing. Many of you have asked how I do it and it really has become a game! See how much I can save and how to improve my saving skills!

Today I headed to Walmart and Kroger. Here is my Kroger run....

Here is what I bought...

3 - boxes of 12ct Poptarts - on sale for $1.98

2 - boxes of Cheerios (I love Honey Nut Cheerios and thought I would try some of the Apple Cinnamon Cheerios a try) - on sale for 1.77

13.99 pounds of chicken - (this was 4 packs of the "family" packs of chicken on sale for 1.77 a pound. Since we rarely use 6 chicken breast (the number in a package) in a meal BJ and I put 2 chicken breast in each freezer bag for easy access from the freezer. - total on chicken was 24.77 or 2.06 for every 2 chicken breast

6 - strawberry yogurt .60 each

2 - 10 ct Oscar Mayer Hot dogs 1.99

1 - Wonder Sandwich bread 1.00

3 -NEW Pizza Hot pockets 1.99 each

2 - Strawberry Jello Packs 1.49 each

3 - Nestle ready bake Cookie Dough 2.49 each

3 pounds Bananas .59 lb

TOTAL Spent - 19.52 (with tax)

TOTAL Saved - 73.55

% Saved - 82%!!!!

SIDE NOTE: I like trips to the store when you have a cashier who enjoys seeing how much you save just as much if not more then you! After my cashier rang everything up my total was $95 and change. I then put in my phone number so the Kroger card discount would kick in and the total began to come down. My cashier asked if I wanted to use my $25 credit of course I said yes.... then the total came down more. Then came the coupon savings!!! I handed her my nice stack (and of course I had to have the guy in line behind me with only one item. If he would have been in line before I started to check out I would have let him go in front of me but of course he didn't so I just got to hear all of his sighs.) So the beeps began as she scanned my coupons and the totals came down to me owing $19. And my cashier was so excited which made me feel better about my savings!

Breakdown on savings...

I transferred a Rx and got the $25 transfer Rx credit on my Kroger card.

3 - .55 coupons for poptarts which doubled to 1.10 making the poptarts .88 each
1 - 1.00 off 2boxes of Cheerios, I also had a .55 off coupon on shortcuts.com making one box 1.27 and the other box .72

1 - .40 coupon which doubled to .80 on 6 as well as a .50 off six coupon on shortcuts for the strawberry yogurt

1 - .55 coupon which doubled to 1.10 as well as a .55 shortcuts coupon making my wonder bread a .65 MONEYMAKER!
The items below are part of the mega sale which gave me $5 off when I bought 10 participating items.

1 - 1.00 off 2 Oscar Mayers coupons

3 -1.00 coupons for the NEW Pizza Hot pockets making them .49 each

1 - .50 coupon which doubled to 1.00 for the Strawberry Jello Packs making them .49 each

98 Days to Christmas: Charlie Brown Style

As I was looking for pictures to put on my 100 days to Christmas post I got stuck on the Charlie Brown Christmas movie pictures.

To tell you I really like the Charlie Brown Christmas movie would be an understatement!!!

I could probably quote the entire movie... But you know the funny thing is I DON'T OWN A COPY!!!! I think I will have to change that this year.

Linus Van Pelt: Charlie Brown, you're the only person I know who can take a wonderful season like Christmas and turn it into a problem. Maybe Lucy's right. Of all the Charlie Browns in the world, you're the Charlie Browniest.

Charlie Brown: Pig-Pen, you're the only person I know who can raise a cloud of dust in a snowstorm.

Linus Van Pelt: I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It's not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love.

Charlie Brown: I've killed it. Oh! Everything I touch gets ruined.

Charlie Brown: This little green one here seems to need a home.
Linus Van Pelt: I don't know, Charlie Brown. Remember what Lucy said? This doesn't seem to fit the modern spirit.
Charlie Brown: I don't care. We'll decorate it and it'll be just right for our play. Besides, I think it needs me.

Lucy Van Pelt: Say, by the way, can you play "Jingle Bells?" [Schroeder proceeds to play "Jingle Bells", which sounds like a traditional grand piano]

Lucy Van Pelt: [interrupting] No, no. I mean "Jingle Bells." You know, deck them halls and all that stuff? [Schroeder begins to play again, with the piano sounding like an organ]

Lucy Van Pelt: [interrupting again] No, no. You don't get it at all. I mean "Jingle Bells." You know, Santa Claus and ho-ho-ho, and mistletoe and presents to pretty girls. [gazes lovingly at Schroeder, who then out of frustration taps one key of the piano while playing "Jingle Bells," which sounds like a child's toy piano]

Lucy Van Pelt: That's it! [Schroeder turns a few unplanned flips from Lucy's reaction]

Linus Van Pelt:"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'"

I can hear the music playing on this one.... "Christmas time is here....."

"Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!"

100 Days to Christmas

I want to do a Christmas post but I am brain dead today.

For all the Christmas fans out there here is a website I found last year. Some of her things are a little extreme but some are nice reminders of things you can do.

So for now you will have to be ok with just the reminder that we have 100 days to Christmas!
